Visiting the Rila Monastery

Departure from Borovets with provided transport and qualified driver towards the Rila Monastery, which is about one and a half hours away. We will arrive and visit one of the most significant cultural monuments in Bulgaria. The Rila Monastery is a symbol of Bulgarian culture andis included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.  The Rila Monastery is situated at 1,147 meters above sea level among the scented coniferous forests of the Rila Mountains. Created in the 10th century the Monasteryfeaturing unique architecture. Over the lifetime of thisMonastery it had been repeatedly reconstructed,destroyed and restored.
